All Inked Out

I prefer to compose by hand because it’s cathartic and also allows me to think. There’s something serene about this natural action. And tranquility is quintessential to me.

Imagine, if you will, that you are mid-sentence and immersed in creating your work. You’ve dropped into that creator’s zone that excludes everything except your composition. Even the minute scratching of the pen across the paper as you write is part of the action, part of the calming balm.

And your pen’s ink fades to transparent within half a word. What an annoyance; ink still remains though. It’s right there! But the irriation is fleeting. You’re still in the zone. You employ your next pen. Oh, that one dried up, too. And onto the third pen. By now, you vagurly wonder if the ink will flow continuously if “dead” is imminent. So, you become faintly aware of the wider world again. And there goes the zone.

Le Sigh.

The New McD Next, Admiralty, Exit A

McD is going upmarket! o,O Futuristic and retro at the same time, it offers you old-fashioned counter-ordering and touch-screen-create-your-own burger stations.

Round black steel tables sit in corners, a soothing counterpoint to the sharp-angled oblong wooden tables with their dark tan grain veneer. The hard-backed black chairs and bar stools balance out the black firm sofas that line the walls. And uplighting behind the sofas couple with a mirror-finish ceiling and flush lights to create a brightly lit interior that is also relaxingly soft.

Charging terminals are available at the bar counters that line the middle walls of the restaurant. These terminals come with 3 USB connectors (iPhone, Android, tablet) and an air-charging option. Neat!

Ordering food floats between choose your own burger and salad or order from the staple set menu.

Food is still served on trays. But these sport a new look to complement the decor: Small, printed dark wood grain PVC. Rounded corners are a given. And the paper that lines it? A simple lined frame with basic complementary muted colours. A clean design with lots of white space for comfortable reading that draws the eye to the content.

Of the six blocks of content on that piece of paper, the most telling is the upmarket move, “Personal Table Service After 6 pm”. According to the copy: “Sit back and relax, while we serve you at your table”. And the icing: “Your Kind of Music”. It’s a QR code of the McD playlist — scan and listen.

Though crowded, this layout is far more welcoming and friendly than the usual version. This place, if my observations serve, is filled with Feng Shui.

Sounds like a topic for the next post: The Feng Shui of McD Next ?

Positive Battery Death

My phone battery is dying. After continuous use for about an hour, a 100% battery hit 56%. Then by the end of the tutorial session, it was at 50%. Didn’t use it during the session, either. But by the time I was done sitting in McD’s, it had died 3 – 4 times and was at 6% last I looked.

Ordinarily this would pose no issue. But, I managed to forget my charging cable and the USB charging port I tried at McD’s didn’t work. Although they have air charging, my phone doesn’t support this latest tech (my phone is pre-air tech).

So: I turned it off. Problem? Nope. I’ve actually written quite a few things so far: Patreon posts, two blog posts, and a quick entry into my second writing project. So, quite productive in the 2-ish hours since the tutorial ended.

Yay? Yay! (^_^)

New Project, New Plushy!

Wheeeee!!! I haven’t been this excited in a long time, nor this happy and content. And yes, I used three exclamation marks. Sue me! πŸ˜› Really, though, the excitement warrants that much punctuation.

I love creating. And I’m happiest when I’m able to do so and the results are tangible. πŸ˜€

Over-abundance of Smileys? Of course! This is the time for overflowing Smileys! I don’t know what will happen tomorrow; I have way too many worries lurking in the background threatening to permanently inter me, so, why not have a bit of fun and a happy or several? πŸ™‚

The New Project is a writing project. It’s all about worldbuilding. Where? On my Patreon page. πŸ™‚ Only a glimpse is provided at this point. There will be more later, but access is granted through a certain portal, after all, I have made promises to those who pledge a specified amount, and those promises must be kept.

New Plushy is one of the many I’ve already designed but have yet to become tangible. This one isn’t as complicated as others, but will take a fair bit of work. However! I am super-enthused! Creations galore! Hehehehe. πŸ™‚

No, I’m not drunk. In fact, I haven’t had any alcohol — today. πŸ˜›

Currently, though, break time! (*^_^*)
